Tonight, Israel navy attacked the Global Sumud Flotilla and, up to this moment, has intercepted nine vessels carrying humanitarian aid, while there are growing fears that smaller boats may be sunk.

The attack on the flotilla in the international waters, as well as the detention of those on board, is yet another crime by Isreal in continuation of its genocide of people of Palestine. 

This assault, along with the silence and inaction of Western governments in response to it, also reveals the hypocrisy of these states. While paying lip service in “support” for the Palestinian people, these states have shirked from providing naval protection and security for the flotilla and placing no obstacles in the way of the Israeli military attack. Once again, just as with previous assaults on other convoys, Israel, relying on this backing continues to commit such atrocities without fear of any impunity.

Tonight, as soon as news broke of the Israeli attack on the flotilla’s ships, a wave of protests erupted in many European cities, in New York, and in other cities, with further demonstrations on the way. Italy’s largest trade union has called for a general strike in protest against this brutal assault. These protests, demanding an immediate and unconditional end to the blockade, the starvation, and the killing of innocent Palestinians by the fascist Israeli state, reflect the depth of public outrage at the crimes of Israel and its allies

For years, the people of the world, the civilized humanity across the globe, have risen up against the crimes of the Israeli government, and have rightly identified the governments of France, Britain, Germany, the United States, and all of Israel’s supporters as accomplices in these crimes against humanity.

The criminal actions of Israel and its partners must be stopped immediately. This can only be achieved by those who have no interest in, nor benefit from, the uninterrupted death and destruction. We, as part of the global movement against the savagery of Israel and its allies, call on all workers, unions, workers’ organisations, and all freedom-seeking people to stand united and take action to put an end to the crimes committed by the state of Israel and its allies, once and for all.
