Long Live International Solidarity of the Working Class!

The main message of working class on the occasion of the international workers’ day is that workers should take the power from the ruling class. This is the day that working class announces its independence as a class that has no interest in the continuation of the miseries that have been brought upon humanity in this capitalist system. It is on this day that working class once again calls for unity in pursuit of freedom, equality and for a decent life worthy of human beings.

Amid struggles that are taking place across the globe, it is only the working class that can put an end to the impasse that capitalists have imposed in all aspects of life, politically, socially, economic, cultural and ecological, … . It is only this class that has a practical agenda against the militarism of the bourgeois states in East and West, against the imposition of wars, ruin, displacement, and destitution. It is this class that can bring about a humane world of freedom and equality, where human beings can live in peace, security and abundance of fruits of their labour.

During this year, in one corner of this worldwide struggle, workers in Iran have brough about major shifts in their struggle against the Islamic rule of capital. The economic and welfare demands of workers have echoed louder and louder against a state that has no answer, except suppression, to the hardship that is imposed across the whole country. A recognised feature in Iran of today is the coming fore of the workers as progressive leaders of social movements demanding the rule of councils, with participation of masses in determining their own destiny. This has been a source of hope and inspiration that is echoed against the ruling bourgeoisie in Iran.

Despite widespread arrests in Iran, in the wake of May Day, workers will be celebrating their day in their announcements and gatherings, that they are intent in taking control of production and distribution from the ruling classes. They announce their class solidarity by calling for unity against all attempts to divide their ranks by gender, sexuality, age, race, nationality, ….

On the occasion of May Day, we hear workers in Iran express their international solidarity with their fellow class workers and commemorate their resolve against the continuous enforcement of inequality, segregation, suppression and poverty. A day to reiterate their resolve in struggle for a social revolution to rid the society from the stranglehold of capital and the building of a new world.

This is our day, and we have a world to win.
